Our region:-
Our region is Bhandup & Mulund. They are suburban community in the city of Mumbai & in the state of Maharashtra. The word Bhandup is derived from the word 'Bhandupeshwar', one of the names of Lord Shiva. Mulund is nestled alongside the foothills of the Sanjay Gandhi National Park with easy access to the Eastern Express Highway and Navi Mumbai. We also have two railway stations- Bhandup Railway Station and Mulund Railway Station.

There various sources of News in our region. For example the newspaper, online news, magazines, radio and social media like Whatsapp, Facebook, twitter etc. News is provided in all languages. But, Maharashtra being a marathi state, the marathi dailies enjoy the maximum readership. People also watch the News on the television. Some people also read online news on the internet. Schools usually subscribe to newspapers or magazine to provide news and information to the students.

Most of the schools in the region subscribe to newspapers like 'The Hindustan Time' & magazines like 'The Young Explorer'. Even our school subscribes to an English newspaper "Hindustan Times" and magazines "Young and Junior Explorer".These sources are very handy and helpful for the students. The provide easy access about the NEWS in their region and they also increase their general knowledge. The magazines include information about various fields of Science, geography, history, famous tourist place, English grammar, local news and technology. Magazines have a separate page for jokes and fun activities. It doesn't have any unwanted things. Media Sources like Internet, & television are very helpful for students in their studies and projects.

Which regional news do people follow? How do they follow it? Which regional news is most important in everyday life . Why? (Adults):-
Adults usually get News from television and Newspapers. But, it depends on the language they speak or follow. Like,south Indian people follow the news in Malayalam language, North Indians follow Hindi newspapers like 'samachar' and see news channels like 'Aaj Tak' and Maharashtrians follow Marathi Newspapers like 'Loksata' and news channels like 'ABP news' and 'Zee chovis taas'. English is followed all over India. One of the English News channels is 'Times Now' and newspaper is 'The Times Of India'. All type of regional news is important for adults. Political news gives them information about different political parties. Civil and social news make them aware of any criminal activity going on in the region. it also tells them about any social program like 'Blood Donation Camp' or any campaign to be held in the region. Sports news tells them about any sports event organised in the region.
How do local authorities such as the city or police get news out to the general public? (News Provider):-
There are different News channels available. For areas such as Bhandup, Mulund, Mumbai and Maharashtra there are local news channels like 'IBN Lokmat'. Then, there are National Channels which cover News on large scale like the News in the country or News in the world. Some news channels are 'ABP News', 'Zee News'. There are many Business Channels available. They usually cover business news, corporate news, economy and stock markets. The police or the city usually issue Public Notices to get News out to the public. Sometimes they put adds in newspapers or they contact news providers so that they can publish it in news articles or on the television.
