BEATRIX COLLEGE
SIMILARITIES –
The Beatrix college has concluded from their interview that 40% people sport for fitness
N.L.Dalmia found that in our region too, people sport more for maintaining fitness.
The Beatrix named football, volley-ball, tennis as some of their popular sports.
We too found these sports as some of the favourites in our region.
We both found that people loved to sport more on weekends and in the evenings after their work hours to destress and lose some weight.
Differences:
We found that nearly more than 80% people in our region, are more conscious with regards to health and the ones who sport for fitness are 40% more than the Beatrix survey.
The Beatrix college included sports like skiing and gymnastics while we mentioned karate hockey and badminton.
They have included grand sporting events like the Eredivisie’- the football tournament and korfball-a dutch version of soccer game.
We have mentioned sporting events like IPL for cricket, Pro-kabaddi league for kabaddi and ISL for football.Also worth mentioning are local events like MBMC-tournaments for football,kabaddi cricket and wrestling .

VECHTDAL COLLEGE
SIMILARITIES –
1.Various sports activities at the Vechtdal College include tournaments such as football, tennis and basketball tournaments.
While at N.L.Dalmia too sport activities conducted activities like tennis,football,cricket and volleyball tournaments both as intra and inter-school tournaments.
2. We have conducted awareness activity of –introducing a two day camp for awareness of physical fitness through martial arts (Karate-do)
for our school friends,wherein they participated and have learnt quite a few skilled moves.
While the Vechtdal in their presentation have mentioned about synchronized and coordinated swimming.
3.They have mentioned triathlon and we had a grand sports day with 100% participation.
Differences:
The vechtdals have not submitted any research work,so we were unable to compare our differences with them.
Conclusion
From the research, survey and interviews conducted we found that the people of our region loved to sport. They told us that they liked to sport more at weekends. Excellent facilities for regular exercises are available in our region. Some paragliding activities are gaining importance in our nearby regions. Skating, swimming and martial arts are some of the sports gaining momentum. Our team had a great time interviewing friends and people around .We learnt interaction, team-spirit and got to research and study our region. We realized the shortcomings of our region and also found some good sport-facilities around us. Overall a lovely experience. VC’s gave us good insights and along with it we came to know two more regions in detail through these comparisons.
Reflection
This being our first effort, we really enjoyed the project.
Scheduling interviews –meeting up people and friends was awesome .We learnt about our region and were awed to find out so much happening around us.The GOJUKAI-DO arranged as an awareness activity was lovely(photos uploaded in the phase-2 video)
Next time we plan to cover an entire new sporting fest under this so as to create an awareness among various participating schools.
As each one carried off their duties as planned the overall project got completed on time.

Research
Our research study was completed using interviews and questionnaires wherein we arrived at the following conclusions:
1. More than 80% of people enjoy sporting activities and participate in it regularly for maintaining fitness and overall agility, they also are passionately involved with one or the other sport.
2. Nearly 40 % of them find sport to be a stress buster after an entire hectic day, so they play football ,badminton ,swim etc

The activity
Awareness activity-A project on introducing a new sport of karate in our school was carried forth with the help of our school authorities.It was a two-day event in which well-acclaimed trainers helped our junior sections learn the basic skills of karate and self-defense.
